The 10 UAH commemorative coin is dedicated to the special-purpose law enforcement agency tasked with ensuring the inviolability of the state border and protecting the sovereign rights of Ukraine in its adjacent zone and exclusive (maritime) economic zone. One of the duties of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is to participate in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations in repelling an invasion or attack on the territory of Ukraine by the armed forces of another state or group of states.

The obverse of the coin features the small State Emblem of Ukraine in the upper part, below which is the inscription UKRAINE; in the center is the emblem of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine; below are the inscriptions 10 /HRYVNIA/2020; stylized branches: laurel (right), viburnum (left). The logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint is located at the bottom left.
The reverse of the coin has the following inscriptions: above - STATE/BORDER/STATE BORDER SERVICE OF UKRAINE, below which is the outline of the map of Ukraine, below - a symbolic border pillar, to the right and left - compositions symbolizing the activities of the State Border Guard Service in the air, on land and at sea.
