This 2 Euro commemorative coin is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of Monte Carlo. In 1866, in addition to the casino, various hotels were built on the Plateau des Spélugues, which was then renamed "Monte Carlo". The name "Monte Carlo" (French for Mount Charles) derived from the name of the then reigning prince. The commemorative coin is delivered in the original box without outer packaging and including a certificate of authenticity.
