The 2 Euro 2023 coin from Cyprus, entitled “60th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Central Bank of Cyprus”, honors the stability of the economy provided by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
The obverse of the coin depicts microchip instruments symbolizing the stability of the economy in the modern industrial and digital age provided by the Central Bank of Cyprus, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The name of the issuing country “ΚYΠΡΟΣ KIBRIS” and the dates “1963-2023” are placed at the bottom. In addition, the phrase “60 ΧΡOΝΙΑ ΑΠO ΤΗΝ IΔΡΥΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΕΝΤΡΙΚΗΣ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑΣ ΤΗΣ ΚYΠΡΟΥ” (i.e. 60 years since the founding of Cyprus) is placed on the reverse, which means “60 ΧΡονΙΑ ΑΠO ΤΗΝ IΔΡΥΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΚYΠΡΟΥ” (i.e. 60 years since the establishment of the Central Bank of Cyprus) is engraved on the inside of the national side of the coin.
The reverse side of the coin features 12 stars of the European flag.
