The 2 Euro 2023 coin from Germany titled “1275th Anniversary of the Birth of Charlemagne” (random letter) is dedicated to the 1275th anniversary of the birth of Charlemagne (748-814), King of the Franks and Holy Roman Emperor.
Obverse: the design combines two modern elements, Charlemagne's personal monogram and the octagon of Aachen Cathedral. These two motifs are skillfully combined into an original work of art.
