Puzuris is a traditional Latvian straw amulet, a symbol of peace, rebirth, and protection.
It is hung on a string and swings easily, which is associated with the symbolism of the winter solstice.
It was used at weddings (as a symbol of harmony and fertility) and in the blessing of newborns (as a symbol of health and prosperity).
The national side of the coin depicts a puzuris on a string, the inscription LATVIA, and the year 2024. The design is by Ieva Krumina, and the common side is by Luc Lux. Minted by Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt (Netherlands).
