The 2-euro commemorative coin “35 Years of German Reunification” was issued in 2025 in Germany.
On October 3, 1990, 328 days after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germans in the East and West celebrated German Unity Day. The coin is dedicated to this truly historic event, which finally overcame the division between the two German states.
On the obverse of the coin, the inscription “WIR SIND EIN VOLK – 35 JAHRE DEUTSCHE EINHEIT” is engraved in capital letters, which translates to “We Are One People. 35 Years of German Unity.”
The reverse of the coin features the design common to all 2-euro coins: a map of Western Europe, positioned on the right and spanning both the inner and outer parts of the coin.
The inscription “2 EURO” appears at the top of the map, with the number 2 set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. The outer ring features 12 stars arranged on both sides of the map and visually connected by vertical lines.
