The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “5 DOLLARS” — the denomination, “ELIZABETH II” — the Queen's name, and “D·G·REG·F·D” — the Latin abbreviation meaning Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor.
