The reverse of the coin features the abbreviations EU and UA on a mirror background, which intertwine to create a visual symbol of the unity of Ukraine and Europe. The two letters “U” seem to be one, forming an image of a new life sprouting under the auspices of the European Union. Twelve stars are depicted around the inscriptions DAY / EUROPE / DAY, as on the EU flag, symbolizing the unity, integrity and harmony of the peoples of Europe.
The obverse of the coin features a stylized trident, the symbol of Ukraine, in the center. To the left of the trident is the official slogan of the European Union UNITY IN DIVERSITY (in a semicircle at the top) and the inscription UKRAINE (next to the trident, vertically). At the bottom of the coin is the denomination 5 with the graphic symbol of the hryvnia, the minting year 2024 (vertically) and the Small State Emblem of Ukraine. To the right of the trident is a floral ornament symbolizing the country's prosperity and distinctive culture, as well as the logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
