The commemorative coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian innovative development "Magura", which radically changed the tactics of warfare in the Black Sea. Thanks to the operations of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, these devices destroyed a number of ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and, for the first time in history, hit air targets: Mi-8 helicopters and Su-30 fighters. The commemorative coin immortalizes the engineering skills of Ukrainian developers and the military prowess of soldiers who turned naval drones into one of the most effective weapons in this war.
The reverse of the coin features a stylized Magura unmanned surface vehicle moving rapidly across the waves, demonstrating its dynamism and precision. At the top of the composition is a scene of the destruction of a Su-30 fighter jet with elements of fire and explosion, symbolizing effective counteraction to the aggressor at sea and in the air. Below is the emblem of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, emphasizing the exclusive use of these marine drones by Group 13, and the inscription MAGURA, executed in the style of the manufacturer's logo, emphasizing authenticity, national pride, and recognition of the achievements of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex.
The obverse of the coin features a stylized image of Magura, a character from Proto-Slavic mythology, a bird-woman with outstretched wings, holding a sword and a shield. She personifies Mother Slava, Perunitsa – the goddess of war, victory, and eternal life, patroness of the Slavic-Rus army. On Magura's shield is the small State Emblem.
