The commemorative coin is dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian composer who left an indelible mark on the musical heritage of our country. Ihor Shamo is the author of numerous symphonies, chamber works and songs. His music is full of warmth and patriotism, and his famous composition "How Can I Not Love You, My Kyiv!" has been the official anthem of Kyiv since 2014.
The reverse of the coin depicts a stylized portrait of Igor Shamo, who is reflecting on the creation of a new musical masterpiece. Below the portrait is a music stand symbolizing the composer's musical heritage. To the left of the portrait are the inscriptions IGOR / SHAMO and the years of the artist's life, 1925-1982. The composition of the reverse is completed by images and silhouettes of chestnut leaves, which emphasize the maestro's inextricable connection with Kyiv.
The obverse of the coin depicts a stylized composition of picturesque landscapes, iconic buildings and monuments of Kyiv, framed by chestnut leaves, a symbolic hallmark of the capital. Below, on a mirror background, there is a music stand with a recording of Igor Shamo's musical composition, the denomination 2 with the graphic symbol of the hryvnia, and the minting year 2025. In the upper center is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription UKRAINE (the dots above the letter "i" are depicted in the shape of hearts). At the bottom right is the logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
